I’ve spent more than 35 years working as a commercial advertising photographer, creating images for companies such as Purina, Cargill, 3M, General Mills, and many other Fortune 500 brands. While I continue to enjoy the creative challenges of commercial photography, my greatest passion has always been animals.

Animals have been a constant part of my life for as long as I can remember. Over the years I’ve shared my life with horses, dogs, cats, ducks, chickens, birds, rats, a chinchilla, and more. Each one brought its own personality, quirks, and lessons, helping shape the deep appreciation I have for the animals who share our lives.

For the past eight years, I’ve also been an active volunteer with animal rescue organizations, donating my time and photography to help homeless dogs find loving homes. Through this work, I’ve had the privilege of photographing hundreds of rescue animals, each with their own story and each deserving of a second chance. Few things have been more rewarding than knowing that a photograph I created may have helped a family discover their next best friend.

Thomas Strand Studio was born from the desire to combine my professional photography experience with my love for animals. My goal is simple: to create beautiful, timeless portraits that celebrate the unique bond you share with your pet.
